Personal Profile
Xin Wenjun, male, professor and doctoral supervisor. He is the director of the Physiology Teaching and Research Section at the Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. He is a distinguished Zhuhai Scholar Professor and an outstanding young talent of the new century recognized by the Ministry of Education. He serves as the chairman of the Guangdong Neurological Society and the chairman of the Guangdong Physiology Society.

His main research areas focus on the neural mechanisms and interventions of sensory/emotional disorders and substance dependence. He has elucidated the key factors inducing acute pain caused by chemotherapeutic drugs, providing a novel concept for understanding the occurrence of acute pain. Meanwhile, he has discovered that inflammatory responses may be an important cause of the chronicization of acute pain and the diverse manifestations of sensory/emotional disorders.

He has successively presided over more than 20 national and provincial-level scientific research funds. He has published over 80 SCI papers. As the last corresponding author, he has published more than 30 papers in a series of traditional academic journals such as Science Advances, Nature Communication, Science Signaling (cover article), The Journal of Neuroscience, Anesthesiology, and Pain. He serves as the chief editor of the fourth edition of the national-level planned textbook Physiology (published by Science Press, with nearly 10,000 copies used annually, covering more than 20 undergraduate institutions) and the deputy chief editor of Comprehensive Ability Examination for Western Medicine Clinical Medicine - Essentials of Physiology.
