Personnel Composition

The college currently has 427 full-time faculty and staff members, including 163 full-time teachers. Among them, there are 69 professors and 70 associate professors. The college also boasts 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (distinguished professor), 1 national distinguished expert, 6 national teaching masters and Baosteel outstanding teachers, 11 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 30 individuals who have been awarded or selected for various national-level young talent programs, such as the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Overseas Talent Introduction Program, and other national-level youth projects.

Talent Recruitment and Development

The college continuously strengthens its efforts in attracting and nurturing outstanding talents, actively recruiting and warmly retaining them. Over the past five years, the college has introduced and nurtured a total of 41 new faculty members, including 20 external hires and 21 internal promotions of full-time researchers to teaching and research positions (appointed under the "Sun Yat-sen University Scholar Appointment Program," including 1 distinguished scholar, 4 outstanding scholars, and 8 emerging scholars). Additionally, the college has cultivated 5 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, attracted and nurtured 11 national-level young talent projects, and 16 provincial-level outstanding talent projects from Guangdong Province and related ministries and commissions.
