Gao Guoquan, second-level professor, doctoral supervisor, Yixian Outstanding Scholar of Sun Yat-sen University. Graduated from Bengbu Medical College in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in Medicine. In 1992, he graduated from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences with a master's degree in medical biochemistry. In 1997, he graduated from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences with a Doctor degree in Medical biochemistry. From 1999.1 to 2002.5, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biochemistry, Medical College of Georgia and the South Carolina Eye Institute. Former Vice president of Sun Yat-sen Medical College, now editor-in-chief of the Journal of Sun Yat-sen University (Medical Science Edition), Deputy director of the Precision Medicine Center of Sun Yat-sen University, director of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Basic Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University, chairman of the Guangdong Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society, chairman of the Department of Basic Medicine and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Sun Yat-sen Medical College. Selected as the first New century outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education, the leading talents of the Guangdong Special Support Plan, the national training object of the thousand and ten projects of colleges and universities in Guangdong Province, and enjoy the government subsidy of The State Council.
Long-term research work on diabetes, tumor metabolism, pathological angiogenesis. He has chaired the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Major New Drug Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Key Research and Development Plan and the Guangzhou Project of Guangdong Province, and has published 109 SCI indexed papers (nearly 70 corresponding authors) in international professional journals such as PNAS, STTT, Diabetes, Diabetologia and J Biol Chem. He was cited more than 3000 times, h-Index 36 (cited in Scopus, ID7403171158). His research achievements won the second Prize of Natural Science of Universities (Ministry of Education) and Guangdong Province Excellent Scientific Research Achievements (2009), and won the first prize of Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Progress as the third person (2018). Granted 4 invention patents. He is the director of Guangdong Provincial Engineering Research Center for Gene Manipulation and Biomacromolecular Products, and the director of Guangdong Provincial University Key Laboratory of Marine Microbial Functional Molecules.
He has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medical biochemistry for a long time and has carried out teaching and research work. He is the chief editor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, a series of national planning textbooks for graduate students, clinical medicine and nursing undergraduate students of the People's Medical Publishing House, and the chief editor of Medical Molecular and Cellular Genetic Basis, a core textbook for basic medicine 101 Plan of the Ministry of Education. He is currently the executive director of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the chairman of the Education Branch. Deputy leader of Basic Medicine Group of the Joint Conference of National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Higher Education, the first chairman of Medical Research and Education Publishing Alliance of higher education, and the first chairman of Medical Journal Alliance of Sun Yat-sen University. He used to be the vice president in charge of graduate and undergraduate education of Sun Yat-sen Medical College, and he is one of the main founders of the basic medicine specialty of Sun Yat-sen Medical College, and one of the main architects of the \"disease-oriented, clinical integration, innovation-leading\" basic medical graduate training system. As the first or main completed adult, he has won 1 second prize of national teaching Achievement Award, 3 first prize and second prize of Teaching Achievement of Guangdong Province, and 1 second prize of teaching achievement of Medical Science Working Committee of Chinese Society of Academic Degree and Graduate Education.
