Personal Introduction
Wuriga, Associate Professor in the Teaching and Research Section of Forensic Biological Evidence. In 2009, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University. In 2014, she received a Doctor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same school. From 2016 to 2021, as a specially appointed associate researcher, she engaged in research on forensic biological evidence in the Department of Forensic Medicine, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, and also worked on the identification of forensic biological evidence at the Forensic Identification Center of Sun Yat-sen University.
The main research directions are the traceability of biological evidence and precise identification of identities. She focuses on the research and detection of molecular genetic markers such as microhaplotypes, STRs (Short Tandem Repeats) and SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms), as well as their applications in forensic individual identification, mixed DNA analysis, and kinship identification.
She has presided over 1 Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 Project of the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, and 1 Youth Cultivation Project funded by the Basic Scientific Research Business Expenses of Universities. At the same time, as a major participant, she has been involved in 2 General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 project of the National Key Research and Development Program.
Up to now, she has published a total of 22 SCI papers, among which 17 SCI papers have been published as the first author or corresponding author in academic journals such as Forensic Science International: Genetics, International Journal of Legal Medicine, and BMC Genomics. She has participated in compiling 2 textbooks, with 1 already published, and has applied for 3 invention patents.
