Academic Achievements
Significant Academic Research Achievements and Contributions
Research on the functional genomics and bioinformatics of parasites. He took the lead in carrying out large-scale comparative functional genomics of adult Clonorchis sinensis and its metacercariae, as well as comparative functional genomics studies of four tapeworms, namely Taenia solium, Taenia saginata, Taenia asiatica, and Echinococcus granulosus. Using bioinformatics techniques, genes related to substance and energy metabolism, immunoregulation, and pathogenesis were identified from the obtained gene databases as vaccine and drug target genes. A complete theoretical and technical system for reverse research on gene function has been established. His representative achievement, "Establishment and Functional Study of the Gene Expression Profile of Clonorchis sinensis", won the "Second Prize of Natural Science in Higher Education Institutions" of the Ministry of Education and the "Second Prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology".
A non-invasive rapid immunodetection technology platform based on artificially combined specific epitope antigens, immunogold rapid detection technology, and rapid ELISA has been established. Two patents have been obtained, and a variety of immunodetection kits have been developed.
A novel oral vaccine technology platform using the intestinal probiotic Bacillus subtilis as a delivery vector has been established. A fish vaccine for Clonorchis sinensis and a veterinary vaccine for Echinococcus have been developed and obtained national invention patents.
A screening and identification technology platform for screening anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor antigens of helminths has been established, and a number of parasite proteins with anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor functions have been screened.
