Personal Profile
Wang Tinghuai, Professor of Physiology and Doctoral Supervisor at the Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. Currently serving as the Deputy Dean of the Medical School, Director of the Medical Information Institute, President of the Kiang Wu Hospital in Macau, National Distinguished Teaching Master, person in charge of the national quality courses "Physiology" and "Experimental Physiology Science", recipient of the State Council's Special Allowance for Outstanding Experts, member of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Medical Disciplines (Specialties) of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of the Council of the National Higher Medical Education Association for Teaching Management Research, expert in the undergraduate teaching work level evaluation of the Ministry of Education; member of the Cardiovascular and Renal Physiology Professional Committee of the Chinese Physiological Society, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Guangdong Provincial Physiological Society; chief editor of the national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" textbook "Physiology", chief editor of "Physiology Bulletin", deputy chief editor of "Evidence-Based Medicine", editorial board member of "Cancer" and "Life Sciences" magazines. Won the National Excellent Teaching Achievement Award (Second Prize) four times. Has undertaken more than 10 national natural science foundation and other provincial and ministerial funds, published more than 110 papers, won 6 scientific research awards, and trained nearly thirty graduate students. Main research focuses on the cardiovascular effects of steroidal sex hormones and their signal transduction mechanisms. From the two approaches of gene and non-gene, myocardium and the intima, media and adventitia of blood vessels at multiple levels, the research has systematically and in-depth studied the role of estrogen in inhibiting vascular injury responses and its intracellular signal transduction mechanisms. This research won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education in 2009. In recent years, combined with the frontier research of modern therapeutics, research on biofeedback therapy has been carried out. Established the first domestic laboratory to study the physiological mechanisms of biofeedback therapy, and took the lead in introducing chaos dynamics theory and approximate entropy analysis method into the signal analysis of biofeedback, solving some bottleneck problems in the research of biofeedback mechanisms. And took the lead in applying biofeedback to the intervention of pre-hypertension, providing new ideas and methods for non-drug treatment of hypertension.
