Personal Profile
Ou Xueling, female, is a professor at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. She received her Bachelor's degree in Forensic Medicine from Sun Yat-sen University in 2002 and her Ph.D. in Forensic Medicine (through a combined master's and doctoral program) from the same university in 2007. In July 2010, she completed her postdoctoral research and has been working at Sun Yat-sen University ever since, focusing on teaching, research, and forensic identification in forensic medicine. She was appointed as an associate professor at Sun Yat-sen University starting from January 2013 and promoted to full professor in April 2022. Her long-term research interests include forensic genetics, forensic genomics, and prenatal genetics.
Academic Achievements
Her research focuses on the development and application of new technologies in forensic evidence. As the principal investigator, she has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (both general and youth funds), the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation (free application and postdoctoral start-up funds), the Guangzhou Science and Technology Plan, and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities' Young Talent Cultivation Projects. To date, she has published 22 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author in prestigious journals such as Forensic Science International: Genetics, International Journal of Legal Medicine, and Electrophoresis. She has also contributed to three textbooks and applied for two invention patents, with one already granted.
