Personal profile

Deputy Director, Department of Medical Genetics. He received his master's degree and Doctor's degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1989 and 1996 respectively. From 2002 to 2003, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University in the United States. From 1996 to 1997, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include medical genetics and human genetics. The main topics are the relationship between the structure and function of G6PD, the molecular mechanism of G6PD deficiency, molecular evolution, ethnic origin, and the relationship between the genetic diversity of the human genome and the disease. At the same time, the methods of gene diagnosis and prenatal gene diagnosis of X-linked genetic diseases were discussed. In the past five years, he won the third prize of China Medical Science and Technology and the third prize of Guangdong Science and Technology. At present, he is in charge of \"two projects of National Natural Science Foundation and one key research project of Guangdong Science and Technology Bureau\". He is responsible for the teaching of undergraduate, doctoral and master's students, and has supervised 11 master's students, 5 of whom have obtained master's degrees. In 2008, it began to recruit doctoral students.
